In order to gather data into your dashboards, you will need to create a manual SQL Query. Thankfully, we can use the features of the Excel Add-In to do this.
You will not need to know anything about SQL to do these steps.
STEP 1. First log into the iDashboards User Application: http://localhost:6600/idashboards/ with default UserName: admin and default Password: change_me
STEP 2. Right-Click within the iDashboards screen and Select 'New Dashboard" from the menu.
STEP 3. Select a layout and then click 'Create' (This example is a 6-frame layout
STEP 4. Click on the Right-Facing arrow in the top-right corner of the browser window to exit the Dashboard Designer.
STEP 5. Create a New Chart
STEP 6. Select the Data Source you created earlier.
STEP 7. Get the Custom Query Window to Appear by double clicking on the QQubeFinancials Data Source.
STEP 8. Go to the QQube Excel Add-In to begin the process of acquiring the manual SQL Query for use in the iDashboards query window. We are using the Financial Summary - Profit and Loss option here.
STEP 9. Move to the next step to acquire the Financial Summary - Profit and Loss
STEP 10. Choose the fields you will want in your report. Then go to the 'Data' Section and choose 'Properties'.
STEP 11. Using the Definition Tab, highlight the manual SQL query listed in the box below, and copy the whole statement.
STEP 12. Paste the manual SQL query from Excel into the iDashboards query window. Then click on the check mark to show the fields that are available.
STEP 13. You are ready to use the fields in your new chart.
