We provide - for every analytic - default Data Models containing the most commonly used fields, to allow the average user to get started without having to deal with the complications of tables and relationships, or become overwhelmed with a long list of pieces and parts.
In this guide we give you information about the default data models we have created, and information about how to modify them.
All analytics contain:
We change the name of the original fields. For instance we change the original name of "SalesTxn Document Transaction Number" to just "Document Transaction Number".
We also hide fields that might be used in a report, but not in an analytic. For instance we would hide an address street field, because you wouldn't normally filter something by "1223 Main Street".
There is only way to connect one table with another - even if you are an advanced user who wants to construct a different type of model.
IMPORTANT: Do not ever use the Autodetect feature.
There are two ways to view the relationships. (Both are on the main PowerBI window). The first is the list option:
Here is the visual model:
To view the Data Model:
Each QQube Pre-Built Analytic will have four steps in the Applied Steps area:
You don't need to do anything with Source or Navigation.
Clicking on the "Renamed Columns" (NOT the "x") will show the grid of fields after they have been renamed. If you want to change it to something else, just Double Click anywhere in the header.
There is an Advanced Editor that gives you a behind the scenes look at the above steps.
