The Configuration Tool Wizard is for first time users of QQube and will appear only when you have an empty database and no companies loaded. Existing users should refer to the QQube Configuration Tool How-To Guide Section.
Instructions for QQube Version 7.x are found here.
If you have a terminal server installation, you only perform this step when logged in as the specific synch user you setup on the server.
The wizard will take you through six easy steps:
Open up the QQube Configuration tool to invoke the Configuration Tool Wizard:
Before You Start. You are asked to stop and ensure that you have completed the QuickBooks Preparation Checklist. Not executing the items in the checklist will lead to synch errors, and inaccurate data.
Connect to QuickBooks. This step will get you connected QuickBooks via the users you created from this guide.
The following window will pop up:
NOTE 1: You can only have ONE instance of QuickBooks running.
NOTE 2: You cannot open QuickBooks via "Run as Administrator". If you see a small shield on your QB Icon, check the properties to remove that option.
Answering OK brings up the following QuickBooks authentication screens.
Answer "Yes, always; allow access even if QuickBooks is running" on this screen
Answering "Yes..." will pop-up this authorization screen:
Answering "Yes" brings you back to original Application Certificate screen, where you will choose the QQube user you setup previously, before Continuing.
Confirm the access.
For QuickBooks Enterprise users, you will receive a second pop-up window, where you will enter the Custom Reporting User password (NOT the QuickBooks regular user).
Select Data Models.
The wizard is intended to give you the most likely set of models traditionally used in your industry. You can always add or remove data models once you are familiar with QQube.
Confirm Fiscal Year and Date Range for 36 Monthly Period Financial Summaries.
The three year summary is only for data models using 36 Monthly Periods such as Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, Statement of Cash Flows.
Extraction Start Date. New in QQube Version 10 is the ability to extract from just a certain date range, which can especially helpful with very large QB files. If this is left unchecked, QQube will load all of the data from the QB file.
Synchronization Option. Choose to schedule at a particular time of day, or use the manual refresh option at a later time. NOTE: Single-user QQube Versions on a workstation need special care to use the scheduler, because of the synch requirements. Learn more about the QQube synch process
Load Data. Choose whether to execute an immediate synch or delay until later.
To load your data immediately, click the Finish button, and monitor the synch activity:
You can also look at the lower right hand tray where the QQube Synchronizer 'Lightning Bolt' will show activity.
When the data synch is complete, the status should show "QQube - Ready to Use" as shown here
If you see an error in your log list, then one of three things occurred:
is requesting access to a wiki that you have locked: https://clearify.com/wiki/view/335/running-the-wizard
