Source Name mirrors the QuickBooks concept of combining all Names into one list. For instance if you used a customer name for payee on a check, and a vendor on another, it would be more efficient to have ONE column in say a General Ledger Detail report that represents each name e.g. not separate columns for customer and vendor.
