If you follow these guides when you first configure QuickBooks to run with QQube, you will eliminate all of the routine problems.
It is possible, that even after following directions, you get an error. Or things run fine for a while, and then something occurs (like a modal window, or something gets changed). Then you look to to Synch log to get you back on track.
After a synch is run, the Synch Log section becomes the default window in the QQube Configuration Tool.
The log is always the first place to start in ANY troubleshooting procedure.
