Use this document if are having repeat synch issues on a remote desktop/terminal server, and you have checked through all items on our synch issues how-to-guide; or you have installed it incorrectly the first time, and are attempting to correct it.
STEP 1. Check startup folders for QQube Synchronizer and QuickBooks
The exe shortcuts both should reside in this folder: C:\Users\[name of server synch user]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Check other users to make sure that the Synchronizer shortcut does NOT exist anywhere else.
STEP 2. Kill all instances of QQube Synchronizer.exe and QQube Configuration Tool.exe
While logged into the special synch user on the server: Run the task manager for all users, and kill all instances of "QQube Synchronizer.exe" and "QQube Configuration Tool.exe".
NOTE if you have multiple people running the "QQube Synchronizer.exe" then you have a problem in your setup. This addressed in the next steps.
STEP 3. Check the Proper setup of the Configuration Tool
While logged into the special synch user on the server: Run the QQube Configuration Tool to check the following settings:
STEP 4. Get SID of special synch user on server
Run this command: wmic useraccount where name='[name of account]' get sid
NOTE: [name of account] is name of special synch user - which you should be logged into.
Example:
STEP 5. Ensure that only the special synch user has the "Synchronizer' Checked
Run Regedit, and from the HKEY_USERS hive do a find for "servercomputer"
ONLY the SID you looked up in Step 4 above should have the registry key "ServerComputer" set to "Yes". ALL OTHER SIDS should have that value set to "No".
NOTE: After changing this settings for other users, please have them logoff, and then login back again for the settings to take effect.
