Versions 7.x
Versions 5.x, 6.x:
The default is set to the name of your machine and should be left alone.
The default path is "C:\Users\Public\Documents\CLEARIFY\QQube Tool\QQube.db" and should be sufficient for most installations. If you are running a QQube Multi-User version and you wish to store the database on another drive, then you might consider moving the database to a different location and browsing to the right path. NOTE: locations must be on a drive that is physically located on this computer.
If you right click anywhere in the Database Path Area, you will also get four options:
There can only be one Synchronizer computer or session on a network. New in Version 7.x: once installed on the server in a QQube Multi-User environment, it cannot be changed, without re-installing; this prevent other users on the server from checking this by accident.
This is used in rare instances and should only be checked when instructed to by a CLEARIFY engineer.
This is most often used to control the amount of memory the QQube Database engine uses and should only be implemented when instructed to by a CLEARIFY engineer. The example in the picture above is 50% of available memory.
The QQube Database operates best when run as a service, and is automatically configured to do so when installed. If you are to change the Database Path (e.g. move the database to a different location), or the QQube Engine Name, you would need to stop the service by hitting the 'Stop' button first. After you are finished, then click the 'Start' button to restart the service.
The Database Service should not be confused with the ability to communicate with QuickBooks via a service. The Intuit Software Development Kit does not allow communications in elevated mode.
