Chuck began his accounting experience in 1977 as a branch controller for the Ben E. Keith Co. in Dallas, Texas where he migrated manual accounting systems to mainframe computers and used his Accredited Personnel Credentials to create a personnel department from scratch.
In 1980, he decided to pursue his childhood dream of playing professional golf and played in over 250 tournaments worldwide including stints on the South African Sunshine Tour.
In the off seasons, he kept his hand in the accounting and technology world by providing traditional bookkeeping and tax services and installing personal computers and Peachtree accounting software in golf establishments and businesses.
By 1992, he hung up the sticks, and focused on the business which quickly morphed into a one-stop company that provided a combination of accounting, technology, and internet solutions for well over 400 customers.
in 2001, Intuit came out with their SDK (Software Development Kit), and Chuck convinced the makers of the QuickBooks QODBC driver to partner with him to improve the product so he could deliver custom report solutions to QuickBooks users.
He worked long evening hours with their chief engineer Matt Froncek (who is the current Chief Engineer of QQube) to improve their product and to ensure that it would work with tools like Crystal Reports.
Chuck is affectionately known in the Intuit Community as the grandfather of Crystal Reports for QuickBooks.
In April 2006 Chuck named his business ACCOUNTiGRATE and emerged as the most sought-after expert on QuickBooks custom reporting and integration while becoming the world’s largest provider of these services
ACCOUNTiGRATE was also a charter QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions VAR.
Also in 2006, Chuck was contracted by Intuit for two years – the only outside accounting technologist to have this honor – to work in the actual database and was given free rein to co-engineer an Intuit cloud offering called Business Analysis.
By 2010, he wanted to focus on providing reporting solutions, business analytics and data visualization under one umbrella and created a new business identity called CLEARIFY®.
It was then, that Matt Froncek agreed to come on as Chief Engineer and worked with Chuck to produce the current QQube flagship product, which is one of the top five selling QuickBooks 3rd party add-ons of all time.
The last 14 years has shown that experience is king, with double digit growth for most of that time period, and a product that has no peers.
Chuck was a keynote speaker at the National Association for Professional Saleswomen, has received multiple awards from the Austin Entrepreneurs Association and is a member Emeritus of the prestigious Intuit Accountant and Advisor Council.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business and public administration from The University of Hartford, and a Master of Education degree from The University of North Texas.
After years of speaking engagements at Intuit functions, CPA chapters, and various accounting technology conferences, teaching business curriculum at local community colleges, he focuses his time on QQube, mentoring the younger generation, and specializes in golf biomechanics.
Matt brought his years of experience to develop the shell, data extraction, and usability components of QQube™ and is now the author of two of the top five selling QuickBooks Desktop 3rd Party Applications of all time: QODBC and QQUBE.
Matt started his programming roots as a high school computer geek when he taught himself assembly language programming on a Radio Shack TRS-80 computer and helped his dad key punch COBAL programs.
While attending ASU as an electrical engineering student, he got hooked on his computer electives, took a part time FORTRAN programming job, and soon left ASU to pursue a new career path.
Matt’s next job was as a programmer at a medical billing and claims processing center. The language was DataFlex which was a 4GL language and a built in PC database.
He presided over the local DataFlex users’ group and attracted attention because of his ability to significantly grow its membership. So much so, that America West Vacations hired him to sort out issues with their vacation reservation system.
Shortly thereafter, he moved on to a consulting house (Software Services Group) which wrote custom inventory and accounting software. One more piece of experience.
He eventually partnered with Flexquarters and created several add-on products including DataFlex for BTrieve, and Flextrieve, and a DataFlex ODBC driver.
Once Intuit released the SDK for QuickBooks, Flexquarters commissioned him to produce the QODBC driver for QuickBooks. In 2006 QODBC was bundled with the QuickBooks Enterprise Edition and has been included with the product ever since.
As if that wasn’t enough Matt expanded his experience into Visual Basic and wrote a complete Document Imaging and Management system with Barcode tracking for Records Management Automation Group a subsidiary of Smead MFG. All at the same time!
Matt was gracious enough to team up in 2010 with Chuck Vigeant, M.Ed. founder of CLEARIFY®, to create QQube™ the highly successful QuickBooks data warehouse. He set out to
Matt created an interactive umbrella for the accounting and QuickBooks database logic that Chuck had created by implementing an efficient extraction process, a comprehensive Configuration Tool, and an Excel Add-In for people to get started with.
His vast programming experience is the reason that QQube is so technically sound and stable.
