Creating a Dynamic Parameter

Using the same sales_(qqube10.x).rpt, let’s create a dynamic list of customers.

Let's create a new parameter called Customers:

Click on the Click here to add item, which will give you a drop down list of all fields available for the report.  Find Customer Name:

Then click on Click to create parameter:

In the Value Options change:

• Prompt Text to Select Customers:
• Allow multiple values to True ( we want to be able to select more than one item at a time)
• Allow discrete values to True (yes, we also want to be able to select a single item if we wanted to)
• Allow range values to True (yes, we want to be able to choose all or a certain range e.g. A thru G)

Click OK when done, and it will appear in the list of Parameter fields.
