There are two methods of communicating with the QQube database: (1) Memory Pools, or (2) TCP/IP. There are certain applications for which Memory Pools do not work, and there are occasions where Excel is not happy with this arrangement. There is no negligible effect on usability regardless of option.

Check the "Disable Shared Memory" under Advanced Options>Database.

'Disable Shared Memory' is disabled by default on the Client User, and is not necessary to disable on the server.
'Disable Shared Memory' needs to be disabled on both the client and the server.
