Version 10.1 (Build 606) [03/11/2024]

BUG FIXES

• Flexible Period Balance Sheet. Fixed an issue where retained earnings entry on the first day of the year were not being recoginzed.
• Parent Account Names. Because of an anomaly in the Intuit SDK, a parent account change will not trigger necessary updates to the children accounts.  This has been addressed with a firm work around.
• Synch Logs. Fixed multiple issues where the synch error was not properly showing in the QQube Configuration Tool for customers to click on and fix.

ENCHANCEMENTS

• Flexible Period Financial Dates. This has been changed to accommodate any range of dates.

BUG FIXES

• Flexible Period Balance Sheet. Fixed three issues:
  • Missing bank transfers
  • Incorrect retained earnings.
  • Three DAX Intermediate Measures that are referenced by all other measures.

• Changing Dates for Flexible Period Financials. Fixed an issue where if someone changed the dates for the Flexible Period Financials, the yearly data buckets were not accordingly changed.  This behavior no longer requires a complete reload from scratch after clearing the views.
• AI Logging for Data Corruption. Fixed several issues where the proper outcome was not achieved for apparent data corruption in a file.  It now properly reports the specific item or transaction, and the specific file, within a list of files.  This can help previous a complete reload of data, when only one file needs to be addressed
• Opening Synch Logs. Fixed an issue where opening a synch log a multi-tab notepad, would cause an error when closing the file.

ENCHANCEMENTS

• Synch Log. Added the period chosen for flexible period financials in the log.
• Configuration Tool. Added the functionality for sorting company files within the manual refresh area.  This functionality was added to the QuickBooks Company List section in the build 595.

BUG FIXES

• Account Number and Name Display. Build 594 was accidentally compiled with the wrong coding for special characters, and has now been fixed.  Example: 14000 · Undeposited Funds
• Balance Sheet and Balance Sheet by Class. Fixed an anomaly where a Balance Sheet refresh might throw an error if there are billion dollar account balances.

BUG FIXES

• 52-53 Tax Year Data Models. Fixed period calculations for any of the three 12 period options:
  • 5-4-4 Tax Weeks
  • 4-5-4 Tax Weeks
  • 4-5-5 Tax Weeks
• Expiration Date Warning. Fixed an anomaly where the expiration date was not recognized because of internal QQube date releases, and as a result, the expiration warning would not appear.

BUG FIXES

• Beginning Balance Inventory for QuickBooks Enterprise files. Fixed two issues:
  • Missing Sales Receipts
  • Speed Issues on very large files
• Estimates. Fixed an anomaly where estimates lines wouldn't show in the Job Cost Detail Data Model.  Newer versions of QuickBooks no longer list the pre-supposed posting account for an item, and had to be accommodated.
• Date Calendars for PowerPivot and Power BI. Corrected the applied steps in transaction date calendars within relevant PowerPivot and Power BI models.  If the today's date is defined in the QQube Configuration Tool as later than the last transaction in the FACT table, the calendar dimension would not show the necessary dates.
• 52/53 Tax Calendar. Fixed a bug where the correct 3 year period was not being saved in the QQube Configuration Tool.
• Vehicle Mileage. Fixed a bug where Vehicle Mileage was loading even though it was not checked (job cost, and vehicle mileage data models).
• Synchronizer Auto Start.  If you used the Wizard, and deferred the synch to a later time, the synchronizer would not start in the tray, and show "not loaded".  This has been fixed to auto load upon completion of the Wizard using any synch option.
• Spelling Errors. Several miscellaneous spelling errors in the QQube Configuration Tool have been fixed.

NEW FIELDS

• Expiration Date for Lot Number.  This was first implemented in QuickBooks USA/CAN beginning with R3, 2023 earlier this year, and is now available in the following data models:
  1. Sales
  2. Open Sales Orders
  3. Purchasing
  4. Inventory

ENHANCEMENTS

• Ability to alphabetize QuickBooks company files in the manual refresh area - for easier search.

  • Company ID number will be first column, name in second column

  • Order of synch will now be determined as follows:

    • For scheduled synch the files are run in order as listed on the QuickBooks Company List screen

    • For manual refresh synch the files are run in order as listed on the manual refresh screen

• Log now correctly shows Server 2022 if present. 
• SDK Error Message 80040403 now has an available linked guide when occurring during a synch.
• Link on First Page of Wizard now links to a comprehensive requirements guide.
• PowerPivot Inventory example now includes more default filter fields to easier match QuickBooks reports.
• PowerBI Profit and Loss Detail adds a drill down example that is better suited for Power BI

INTRODUCTION OF AI IN SYNCH PROCESS

• Abnormal interruptions or manual aborts in the synch process have heretofore always required a complete reload from scratch.  Now when this happens, QQube will automatically recognize which company where this occurred, and auto-reload that specific company file from scratch.
• QuickBooks Transaction or List Field Corruption. Occasionally there would be a corruption in a QuickBooks transaction, or data in a field that is too big for it, usually the result of old IIF tools to import data.  This would show as a "index-not-unique" error in the log, and require several help desk communications, to help identify the corrupted transaction, or the offending list item.  The log will now inform us which specific transaction or item is causing the problem.

REMINDERS

• There are two new warnings to alert customers about their subscription status, and/or the availability of new releases within their current subscription.

Subscription Status.  When you open up the QQube Configuration Tool you will receive up to three warnings:

1. 1. 1. 30 days subscription remaining
      2. 15 days subscription remaining
      3. Expired - with instructions to re-activate if you have already renewed

Each user can receive the warning, and will occur only once per warning period.

Update Availability.  If a new QQube update is available, the QQube Configuration Tool currently notifies you if a new update is available.  If you are out of subscription it will now tell you that it is published, but not available until your subscription has been renewed.

BUG FIXES

• We recently introduced the ability to extract Quickbooks data from a certain time period to alleviate the synch times with larger files.  The mechanism for assessing the beginning inventory could take an extraordinary amount of time involving files with large numbers of inventory items, and/or previous item transactions.   This has been resolved, and now loads within a few seconds.
• Fixed a bug introduced in Build 587 where the mid-point or interpunct symbol " · " between the account name and account number was incorrectly represented by a missing or even an accented "A".   Now all QQube special characters use the UTF-8 (and Microsoft preferred) character set, instead of the older - but traditional - ANSI character standard protocol.

BUG FIXES

• Fixed an issue where amounts for Document Total, Document Applied, and Document Open were incorrect when discounts were present for Bill Payment Check and Bill Payment Credit Card.

ENHANCEMENTS

• The G/L has a feature in it that allows the Bill and Bill Payments to be lined up one underneath another so a user can more easily see linked transactions, and do computations for original paid, and actual paid

  However, the Discounts on a bill were not showing in this linking mechanism, thereby making the computations difficult to achieve without extra work.

BUG FIXES

• Fixed an issue where detail lines on a deposit had no source name in the General Ledger Detail Data Model.
• Fixed an issue where the detail lines of group items in Purchase Orders were not showing.

ENHANCEMENTS

• Added the Sales Tax Preference to our synch logs to help spot cases where Sales Tax Records might exist, but don't get extracted because the preference got turned off.
• Correct references within the code to ensure that secure (https) https://clearify.com is enforced.

SDK BUG WORKAROUNDS

• The Intuit SDK has a bug where a timestamp field in the vehicle mileage records is not in fact a timestamp.  Despite repeated requests to Intuit to fix this bug (it was a timestamp not so long ago), we have created a work around that should work in almost all cases - unless there are over 20,000 mileage records in a file.  In previous versions of QQube we could just incrementally load records based upon this timestamp, but that is no longer possible. We now will reload all records every time.

BUG FIXES

• Fixed an issue where sales orders were not extracted from QuickBooks 2021.  We provided a work around to recent Intuit SDK issue as explained in the announcement for Build 576.  However, we did not successfully implemented that work around.  Sales orders now properly load in QB 2021 versions.
• Fixed an issue where the license for the 10 Company Add-On would not allow more than 3 files.
• Fixed anomaly for upgrade installers, where the old Job Cost Freestyle Profit and Loss were not checked within the Legacy section, even they were checked in the old version.  We additionally automatically check the newer, more efficient, Job Cost Flexible Period Profit and Loss models to give customers immediate access to both types of models.
• Fixed issues where % of Sales was incorrect for YTD, Quarter, Year (Actual, Budget and Forecast) in the following models:  
  • profit_loss_job_flexible_period_(qqube10.x).xlsx
  • profit_loss_job_class_flexible_period_(qqube10.x).xlsx

ENHANCEMENTS

• Changed the behavior of setting the "Today" definition.  If you change it to a specific date, it will be not necessary to reload any data models to see the effect. For instance, Current Month, YTD, etc. will immediately be available with updated calculations.  This will be true for the following affected data models.
  1. All Power Pivot and Power BI examples
  2. Standard Monthly Period Financial Summary data models.
  3. Advanced Monthly Period Financial Summary data models.

• The QQube Configuration Tool > About QQube will no longer display a message that discerns between a minor and major upgrade.  Updates always contains bug fixes, and should be installed.  Major numbered upgrades generally add enhancements which may need researching before implementing.  The Release Notes is always available on that page to decide if the update is necessary now - or after it has been tested in their own environment.
• Changed the installer Icon to the QQube Icon, rather than the CLEARIFY icon for better recognition.

Version 10.0 (Build 576) [03/09/2023]

INTUIT SDK CHANGES

• In a departure from 22 years of SDK implementations, Intuit executed SDK changes for current versions of QuickBooks into previous versions e.g. 2022 and 2023 into 2021.  In doing so, they introduced a mechanism in the latest releases for all years, which will produce errors in extraction for all versions of QuickBooks 2021, 2022, 2023.

• Additionally Intuit introduced a field name which breaks even their data entry rules - and which cannot be modified.

BUG FIXES

• Fixed two DAX formula errors in the PowerPivot purchases data model:

  • Vendor - Average Purchase Quantity

  • Vendor - Average Purchase Amount

• Fixed anomaly where Profit and Loss with Actual, Budget, Forecast (and by class) where not transferred as checked, upon upgrading from earlier QQube versions where it was checked. 
• Fixed issue with serial number negative quantities not being accounted for.

• Fixed multiple issues with what happens when saving date options in the QQube Configuration Tool

  • Calendar Dimension Ranges - now recalculates upon saving
  • Fiscal Year Range for Standard/Advanced/Legacy Job Financials - now shows Warning Dialogue Box to load relevant data models upon saving.  I needs no calendar recalculation and that function has been removed.

ENHANCEMENTS

• Added a cascading visible filter mechanism in Profit and Loss by Detail, so a chosen account name filter in the example would not "disappear" at the bottom of the list.   We have added account type as the visible filter, because it is universal. 

• Customers will no longer be able to accidentally attempt to install QQube updates if they are a multi-user client on a hosted environment.  The download link will be greyed out, and there will be a link to the correct procedures: Updating Existing Installations | CLEARIFY 

• The Excel Add-In now mirrors the look and feel of Excel pivot table lists.  Folders that contain fields used in the Pivot Table will now be bolded.

BUG FIXES

• Fix issue where the 36 period profit and loss would not load after an upgrade.

• Fix issue involving a bug in the Intuit SDK which might cause the beginning inventory balance to be incorrect.  We have determined a way around the bug, as it is a consistent type of error.

• Fix issue where estimated taxes were showing as income. 

• Fix issue where the beginning balance for G/L would not show when extracting from a particular date.

• Fix an older issue in the job cost data model where the amounts for inventory sales and COGS were correct, but the split accounts were not showing; there was only one line.  Now there are separate lines for income and COGS, where the appropriate accounts for each are listed. 

• Fix issue where subtotals were incorrectly showing as income in the job cost data model.

BUG FIXES

• Fix issue where ghost data models would show in the Manual Refresh area.

• Fix issue where reimbursed items on credit memo were missing from job costs.

• Fix issue where the Account dimension in Audit Trail missing detail in the Excel Add-In.

• Fixed issue in the GL Details Data Model in Power BI, where necessary measures were hidden in error.

  • Power Query now shows tables and views when accessing the two QQube Data Sources

  • SQL Server Linked Server no longer throws an error when opening a view

• Fix issue where LinkForCompanyID in Job and Customer Rep dimensions was missing.  They have been added back.

• Fix internal error where the Microsoft Access views would not be deleted when PandL by Job and Class (Legacy models) were unchecked - which caused slightly longer refresh times.

   

• Fix issue where certain upgrades to version 10 had unpopulated views.

  Updated to appropriate version of SQL Anywhere to address two Microsoft items:

• Fix multiple issues with recalculating date calendar when changes made to 52/53 tax year

OTHER FIXES

Added back two account dimensions for PowerPivot and Power BI users to allow easier upgrades from earlier versions of QQube.  Although we have created new account dimensions for our new Power Query/Pivot/BI models, it is best to leave these in for legacy purposes, and alleviate some frustration with any upgrade process..

ENHANCEMENT

You can now use Alt-K to turn on mnemonics to allow multiple toggle choices for synch options in the QuickBooks Company List.  Use the underlined letters, along with the down arrow, to select multiple companies in quick fashion.  (Previously, you had to tediously click each one)

BUG FIXES

• Fix issue where an account with null value amounts on an expense line would cause a synch error representing duplicate values.
• Fix issue where adjustment of lot/serial numbers would not update properly after any subsequent synch. 
• Fix issue where prefixes of certain Document and Date Attributes may be incorrect and show GLPLTxn instead of GLTxn. 
• Fix issue where an untethered amount was showing in general ledger and payroll. Affected Pro/Premier QuickBooks desktop only. 
• Fix issue where may budget not showing in Calendar Year 2022. 
• Fix issue where payroll item and 0.00 in payroll details caused index issue. 
• Fix issue where log file would not open up in Windows 11 on latest processors.

• Fix issue where job dimension contains incorrect null value markers for job end date and job projected end date.   Corrections:

• Fix duplicate payment entry for document dates in A/R Detail. (applied in 736H)
